As some of you might know, I am currently in deep thought as to whether to work in Singapore or New Zealand. Many have advised me to weigh up the pros and cons of working in either, hence the table below:
Usually the pro of one is the con of another, so I didn’t list down the cons. The result of this tedious exercise is…
I am still undecided.. aiiyahhh
Can also work in other places I guess, like Aus or UK, but I think those places will be even harder for a fresh grad to get a job. Might end up staying at home and baking chocolate cake to sell.
If you can think of any other pros of working in Singapore or NZ let me know lah! Terimakasihthankqueverymuch!
Note: I realised after publishing that the table is very small but can click on it to make it bigger! Dunno what to do this thing doesn't let me copy and paste my table from microsoft word :/ In microsoft word my table is very big and beautiful

Just flicking through your posts, your blog is both hilarious and honest Fi, awesome stuff!
interesting blog..work in Singapore lar..at least there's a Ipoh old town. And not to mention "bak kut teh"..:p
ahhh fi i dont know lol, NZ is great and all but wellington is just too small. auckland is better suited to the lifestyle you want, but it is far away from buz, the job market up here sucks at the moment and it is more expensive to live and harder to get around. but there are no hills, so you could wear heels AND have winterwear because it gets cold (but less cold that wellington!!). but if you stay in NZ for two more years, your PR would also give you access to the australian job market, and you might be able to convince the boyfriend to move to sydney or melbourne :D
yeah. move to auckland. lol
hmm btw a NZ PR wouldnt get you work in OZ btw, only a NZ citizenship will.
anyway my 2 cents worth....at our age - is lifestyle or is career more important? once you knw the answer to that, i think thats the deciding factor really..cuz most of the pro / cons will flow from that answer :)
@ Emz: getting to wear heels is very tempting..hehe
@jess: i guess u're saying nz's better for lifestyle and singapore's better for career? But i don't think it's that simple..
it really depends on what lifestyle you're most used to i think. i can't live in malaysia anymore because i can't communicate and can't do many things that i love to do (walk around town by myself, take photos randomly on the streets, go to film festivals and art exhibitions, go to gigs late at night, visit second hand book/cd stores...)... not sure how singapore's art and music culture is like, but the town where i'm from, it's pretty much non-existent. Picking up your life and moving is a really big decision, i'm sure there will be many more additions to your pro con list. :) Wherever you end up, i'm sure you'll love it, even though there will be things you will miss about the other place.
